The dude who shot up two mosques in Christchurch New Zealand did so for two reasons: because he is a racist fucker, and because he wants to be a famous shooter. So don’t give him that. Don’t say his name, don’t share his face. Let him be a nameless, faceless nobody. Share the names of those he killed – remember them. But make the shooter as unknown as possible. He doesn’t deserve to have his name known.
It lowkey bothers me people don’t know ezra miller and elly jackson (la roux) and angel haze are nb. I think it bothers me bc i secretly know there’s never gonna be a way to present in public that people just instinctively understand you arent a binary gender. They have to look it up. You have to speak up about it constantly. People are always gonna see you as a gender you aren’t until proven otherwise and there’s nothing you can ever do to change that
And when you inform people of famous people’s nb status, they kinda treat it like a new and fun fact that doesnt matter much to them, that they couldn’t have possibly known before, and that they could have gotten on perfectly fine without knowing. and you just have to keep telling new people all the time, and it just hurts to realize you have to keep giving up this fun little useless trivia fact and informing them over and over again, something other people see as so unimportant and maybe a little annoying to be informed of, like you’re telling them george lucas’ wife edited his films until she divorced him or gene roddenberry wouldn’t allow zippers on any clothes in star trek because he thought we would have evolved past them by then, and you just come off as know-it-all asshole, but youre just so goddamned tired of people not knowing, of them erasing you, and not even caring about it all that much
I’m just super fucking bitter that once the flint water crisis got it’s 15 minutes of fame people stopped giving a shit. The water is still poisoned, people! Donations have plummeted and people have been forced back into drinking and bathing with the water! The medical effects of this are astounding, cases of legionnaires disease have skyrocketed, people are having seizures, people are having weird rashes break out over their body, people (including me!) are having their blood poisoned, and it’s not just lead! it’s coliform bacteria! it’s THMs! it’s all in the water and it gets into the bloodstream and breaks down blood vessels, causing bruising and petechiae and internal bleeding and no one gives a shit anymore and it’s only gotten worse like how many people are going to have to die until people realize this is still a problem
I would like to add that the people of Flint cannot sell their houses, because selling a house with leaded water is illegal. Additionally, households with children can’t stop paying for the water because living in a house without running water is cause for CPS to take their kids. Flint has been living this way for over two years.
Not to mention the fact that Mrs. White isn’t qualified to teach.
She should be required to take a remedial English course.

Dont let your children be controlled like this. I remember back when I was in school my mom always told me “if you really need to use the bathroom or attend to an emergency and the teacher won’t let you, then just leave the classroom and I’ll deal with teacher and principle”

If I was this kid I would use up those passes and then just fuckin’ throw up or get a severe nosebleed in the classroom and then refuse to leave because “sorry, I can’t go to the nurse, I already used up my two passes for the fucking MONTH”
There was a student at my high school, who we will call John Doe, who actually did that. When teachers gave him a limited number of bathroom allowances (usually 3 per semester, which was the standard at my school), he would use them in the first week, and then induce vomitting my eating rotten food he found around the school garbage cans. If teachers refused to let him go, he would just throw up on something they had to touch. Light switches, keyboards, whatever was available.
Instead of making admin do anything about this toxic policy, they just doubled down harder, to the extent that one girl politely informed a teacher that she felt like she might be about to have a seizure and could she go to the nurse, please. She was denied, sat back down at her desk, and promptly passed out and concussed herself on the concrete floor when she fell.
Another girl had severe vertigo-induced fainting, could not get a teacher to excuse her from a phys ed class, and fell off a monkey bars and split her head open, and nearly lost an eye because her glasses broke when she landed.
A student with, I believe, diabetes had a severe blood sugar drop and tried to eat a candy bar in a class with a “no food or drinks” rule. The candy bar was taken away, and she had to be taken out by EMTs.
This kind of human rights abuse in public schools is not new. I graduated a full decade ago.
I’m glad it’s being publically discussed again, (briefly around 2003-2005 this was also a popular subject of discussion). I hope that this time, concrete changes in policy are actually affected.

I think its super important to be nice to younger/less popular/less experienced artists. When i was starting out at art there were times when I felt so bad about my art but then I’d get an ask like “your art is cute” or “I love the colors you used in X peice” and it really kept me going yknow? sometimes you should go out of your way to to tell younger artists you like their art because it might be something they really need to hear. Idk
REALLY wish that super hero movies/shows would like, go back to using secret identities as an actual thing instead of either just not having them or have them only be there in the most bare minimum hand wavy way they can
Like okay Spiderverse actually did the whole secret ident thing really well (just like most everything) but in particular I would kill to have more scenes like this in some modern stuff
